Ok, here is the final build. This will more than suffice for me:

Case: XION XON-301
MOBO: ASROCK Z77 Extreme6
CPU: Core i5 3570K
GPU: EVGA GTX 660
Memory: Gskill Ripjaws X Series 8gb 1600 CAS 8
Power Supply: Corsair Builder Series CX600
Mouse: Razer Naga 2012
Keyboard: Logitech G510
Sound: Logitech Z506
SSD: OCZ Agility3 120gb
HD : WD Caviar Green 1.5TB
Monitor: Asus VS238h-p
CD Drive: ASUS DRW-24b1st/blk/b/as
OS: Windows 8 Pro 64bit

-xion cases are crap
-you dont have a cpu cooler
-the gigabyte ud4h is at least 2x better in terms of quality
-i have more GPU power than our rig while being a better value overall
-cas 8 ram is uselessly expensive. stop wasting money on unnoticeable performance differences
-cx series are sub par compared to what i included in my rig
-id get yourself something like a logitech g500 or a g9x cheaper and better build quality
-if you need a keyboard, id recommend the quickfire pro from cooler master. its 69.99 after a MIR. way better than any membrane keyboard
-get rid of that crappy ssd. its faster than the 840 but has double the failure rates
-get the vs228h-p if you want something cheap
-dont waste your time with green drives. seagate drives are both cheaper and contain more capacity
-do you even like windows 8? if you do, get premium not pro. pro is useless to you given you dont use more than 16gb of ram
