Hi everyone! 👋I’m new to building PCs and started learning cybersecurity about six months ago. My focus is on the offensive side red teaming style — I want to keep developing and mastering skills
Budget: Not strictly limited, but I want to avoid spending more than necessary $2,600 USD is the soft ceiling, but I’m flexible if the value is right.
Use Case: Primarily for cybersecurity learning and practice, especially on the offensive side. I also plan to run multiple virtual machines and lab setups.I’d also like to run some light games for fun — nothing competitive or high-end, just smooth performance and decent graphics just to have a bit of fun at the end of the day if i am already buying but the main priority is cybersecurity learning.
Peripherals required: monitor keyboard and mouse important that will be comfortable for long sessionsNo Windows license needed — I’ll be setting up a dual boot with Windows and Linux.
My build from the research i did already : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QvdzdbAm I overspending on any components?
Is there a better way to balance the performance for both cyber labs and light gaming? Could I save money on the GPU or other parts without hurting performance for my use case? Are there any compatibility issues I may have missed? In term of location I am outside the us and don't have a micro center near.
Thanks a lot for the time reading i would appreciate any advice or help !!!!
