My First Ever PC Build. Is it overkill and should i change anything? thank you

Hello Everyone, This is my first ever pc build and i want it to be good for 4k gaming and a little rendering. and i wanted to make sure if it is too expensive.

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k (i want to overclock)

CPU Cooler: Thermaltake Water 3.0 Extreme S 99.0 CFM 240mm Liquid Cooler

Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Hero Z97 Motherboard

Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3-1600 MHz CAS 9 16GB(2x8GB)

Storage: SSD: Samsung 850 pro 256GB

HDD: Western Digital Black 1TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache

Graphics Card: 2-way SLI Asus Strix GTX 970

Case: Corsair 750D ATX Full Tower

LOL manofchalk. People do not know how to define what is necessary when it comes to a motherboard. Same goes for CPU.

Are you purchasing in the US? Or where?

Are you going to overclock? Otherwise I would say get an i5-4460 with a h97 motherboard.

You say you want budget, yet you are looking to SLI with GTX 970, that doesn't add up. Using SLI only gives you about 50% of the performance from the second card, and it is rarely unproblematic (requires a lot of patience and troubleshooting to make it work), and some games may struggle with SLI builds. I would personally recommend going for a single GPU since this is your first time building so you don't get scarred for life.

Also, i bought some of my parts from ebay and got a 1440p monitor!

All this cost me around £1600 / $2400

In addition to this id go for the Palit GTX 970 Jetstream, Your only paying for an editing cooling system on GPU's and the Palit 970 is the cheapest ive found but still extremely powerful! Im Upgrading from a 670 Jetstream

ok i guess many people have said its not a budget build, please give me suggestions because im lost haha. i mean it is my first ever pc build nobody can expect me to know what i am doing. and plus you are a "grandmaster" so please suggest anything that can save me a lot of money and in the same time can maximize my performance. and im purchasing outside the US (im from saudi arabia to be specific). thanks i hope you give me a solution. i want to game at 1080p/1440p on ultra settings while getting 80 to 100+ fps

A z97 motherboard is not overkill if you want to overclock. Get an ASUS one and you'll be fine. I think your original build is fine, but I would go for a single GPU instead of SLI, so get the best GPU you can afford instead.

A z97 motherboard is not overkill if you want to overclock. Get an ASUS one and you'll be fine. I think your original build is fine, but I would go for a single GPU instead of SLI, so get the best GPU you can afford instead.
