Hey guys,
This is my first time building a pc and I was wondering if you guys can help me with a couple suggestions and pointers.

My budget is ~$1800

I will be using this pc mostly for gaming, Photoshop, and watching movies.

i might be doing overclocking in the future

This is only the starting build I am planning to keep upgrading this pc in the future so I need something that will be good for future upgrades.

This is the list that I came up with so far:

1.Acer H243Hbmid 24” 2ms(GTG) HDMI widescreen LCD monitor

2.EVGA E758-A1 3-Way SLI (x16/x16/x8) LGA 1366 Intel X58
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188039

or

Asus P6T Deluxe V2 LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131365

3.EVGA 02G-P3-1185-AR GeForce GTX 285 2GB 512-bit DDR3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130486

(Is this an overkill for a 24” LCD?)

4.CORSAIR CMPSU-1000HX 1000W ATX12V 2.2
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139007

(Do you think this would be good for future upgrade if I add more cards will it handle future products?)

5.COOLER MASTER HAF 932
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119160
(Will this fit everything?)

6.Intel Core I7 920
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115202

7.CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145224

8.Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136284

I am not sure about this build so if you can suggest a better build it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Well, you're missing some parts but that's OK :) All my corrections will just save you money.

Get the P6T Deluxe V2. The EVGA has issues with large air coolers.

The GTX 285 has very poor cost-to-framerate ratio. Bad bang for the buck.

Grab two 4890s up front and forget about it:

Then you can step down to a Corsair 850TX:

The RAM is overpriced.

Faster, cheaper.
