My first gaming rig!

Nov 24, 2012
Hi guys,

I am looking to buy my first gaming system and as I'm kind of new to it all I was after some advice!

I don't really want to spend more than 1600-1700, and because I am from Australia I have been told that the best site to get parts from is, but if any of you guys know a better aussie site please let me know :)

Anyway so far I am looking at:

Aerocool Strike-X Advance White case

ASUS VE248H 24in Widescreen LED Monitor

Xigmatek Dark Knight Night Hawk CPU Cooler

CoolerMaster GX 750W PSU

Western Digital WD Green 2TB WD20EARX

ASUS P9X79 Deluxe Motherboard

Kingston HyperX KHX2133C11D3K4/16GX 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3

ASUS GeForce GTX 660 DirectCU II 2GB OC

Lite-On IHES312 12X Blu-Ray DVD Combo Drive

And not sure about which cpu... was looking at either an i7 3820, i5 3570k or an i7 3770k!?

Please help! :ange:

Sorry about that!

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: Around Christmas

Budget Range:1600 - 1700

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, and general use!

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Parts to Upgrade: Complete system

Do you need to buy OS: No, my friend has a spare copy of Windows 7 (Ultimate, I think)
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: (e.g.:, -- to show us selection & pricing)

Location: Melbourne, Australia

Parts Preferences: Best for my budget

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: Not sure

Your Monitor Resolution: Probably just 1920X1080

Additional Comments: I just want the best system I can have for my budget!

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Currently using an old laptop and want to start PC gaming :)

Hope this clears everything up!
