My first homebuilt desktop: HELP

Hey guys! I'm 16 years old and just delving into the world of computers. I've done a bit of research and this is what I've come up with. PLEASE tell me if there are compatibility issues. Maybe you guys can help me save a little money too (I'm on a teen-aged budget) if there are any better deals. I'm looking to cut down about $100 (to $1000). Any other good places to buy in the US? I would prefer Intel processors and compatible parts and other components from New Egg. What else am I missing? What are your thoughts on this being a gaming PC? I have a commercial copy of windows 7 and a monitor/keyboard/mouse at my disposal.

Did both to the best of my ability. Don't know what some of the other stuff is, like crossfire.

Get the Asrock z68 Extreme 3 Gen 3. There is no point in getting the z77 chipset MoBo if you're not getting IB. save $20.

You only need DDR3 1600 RAM. Anything more and the performance gains is next to none. Try the G-Skill Ares or Ripjaws series DDR 3 1600 1.5V. Save $10.

Get the Corsair 500R. It has great cooling and cable management. It also looks nice but that is subjective. Save $60.

xFire/SLI means you will be (or plan to) running two graphics card concurrently for that extra muscle. If you plan on doing this in the future, keep your PSU. If not, then get a 550W PSU. Either the tx55o or xfx Core Edition 550W. Save about $20.

From here on out, you have a few choices.
1) Get a gtx 670 for the extra $50
2) Get a small SSD as a boot drive. Something like the Mushkin Chronos 60 Gb for $80
3) Just keep the savings

If strictly for gaming, I would suggest choice # 1. You will get a lot of performance with that build. Choice # 2 can be a future upgrade and is very easy to do. Choice # 3 if you really need to save the money.
