Hi! I'm new here. First of all, I'm really sorry for my bad English sometimes.
So my PC is:
Motherboard: ASUS Z97-P
CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K - 3.4Ghz
VGA: MSI GTX 970 4G
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro
RAM: Crucial 8GB 1600Mhz
I bought a water cooler yesterday (RAIJINTEK TRITON) and I decided to overclock my CPU from 3.4Ghz to 4.0Ghz
In BIOS, I've changed the CPU ratio from AUTO (38x) to 40x. Then I've restarted my PC and I saw that with AUTO voltages the system can raise the voltage to really high values.
So I went back to BIOS and set the voltage to OFFSET mode, then to [-] and I type in [0.08]. After that I started some stress test programs (IntelBurnTest, AIDA64, Benchmark with Intel Extreme Tuning Utility).
These are the IDLE and FULL LOAD results in CPU-Z:
IDLE
LOAD
However, my temperatures are really good.
In IDLE mode: 30C
In LOAD mode: about 59-62C
I did not dare to further reduce my voltages, although I think that 1.223V for 4.0Ghz is too much...
I'm afraid that if i further reduce my Offset voltage, the IDLE voltage won't be enough for the system to work.
So can you give me some advice about how should I set my voltages?
Offset mode and [-0.xxx] or adaptive mode and just type in 1.20V and see what happens in stress tests?
