My first PC build - feedback please

Keep in mind Im new to PC building so correct me if im wrong on anything (This is the build I have now http://pcpartpicker.com/p/hjVF7P
Personally I would have went with a i7- 4790k. and a GTX 980. But I don't think it matters. You should at least get a 970?
Also you should get a CPU cooler
keep the hard drive you have now for OS installation. and buy another one. You can get a 1TB for $49
Other than that looks good to me. depending on what games you are playing.

Im still new to PC building so dont judge me if i got some stuff stupidly wrong x)

i agree you will need an hdd of some sort at least 500gb or 1tb but also i would consider a 600W psu just to be safe. also you have a motherboard that can OC but not a processor that can. maybe an aftermarket cooler like a cooler master hyper 212 evo

that build is 500+ over his current build.

I know. I didn't know his budget, sorry I was just suggesting some things. I'm new my self so x)

Also just double check for the sake of it.....to make sure the RAM you are choosing is compatible with the motherboard. Can never be to careful, and if you plan on continuing your gaming and what not I would probably upgrade to a 700-750w PSU just so you don't have to buy another one.

I have that exact PSU right now with my build and I am about to be upgrading my GPU to a 970 or 980 haven't decided yet and will most likely need a bigger PSU, so I am shooting up to 750w - You typically don't want to be drawing for example 500w and use a 550w PSU you want some buffer room. (At least that's what I have been told over the years)

The only things I would change are:
Adding a Seagate 1TB or 2TB hybrid drive (SSHD) ($70 for 1TB - $80 2TB)
Maybe upgrade your PSU to a 750w (EVGA has a good one for around $85)
Change out the CPU for an i5-6500 Skylake 3.2Ghz (It's only like $10-15 more)

So basically add an extra $100 in my opinion and you've got a great SSHD that you'll need cause I am almost certain that 250GB is not going to suffice on its own. Probably only put the OS and maybe a FEW games that you play A LOT on it. The CPU will make a good difference, and the PSU has you setup in case you decide to SLI or do anymore upgrades with plenty of room to play around without having to upgrade again in the future. Other than that though, you'll probably run with that rig very well, only thing left over to upgrade would be RAM which is cheap anyways and you probably won't need to do that for a while unless you feel its necessary.

Just my 2cent =)

UPDATE: Just noticed you don't have a CPU cooler, lol grab a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - It's $30 and an extremely good air cooler. If you jump to the i5-6500 I don't think it comes with a stock cooler. I know my i5-6600k didn't.

All I did was change the storage you picked, to the one that I suggested. I actually have the one chosen as well, but the 2TB version. Whether or not you need that much I don't know as your storage capacity is completely up to the user.

UPDATE: and to be honest, the PSU thing I guess my suggestion was more preferential or looking further down the road you could say, if you're not going to be doing any SLI (Dual GPU) then honestly, I guess you could bump that down. I was just trying to think of efficiency/longevity.

Thank you for actually changing the parts yourself (Im still new to all this). And is there anything else I can do if im not going to overclock it?

Agreed. Since you I believe can't even OC your CPU, having a motherboard for overclocking is kind of pointless. Best to swap it up, save a few bucks and maybe snag a 256GB SSD - again toss the OS on it and maybe 2-3 games that you play a lot on it and out the rest of the stuff on your other storage drive.

Or just pocket the extra cash saved unless you want that motherboard, it doesn't hurt to have it and $104 isn't really "expensive" for a motherboard either I don't think, mine was $240

Which one do you request? Pcpartpicker link please.
Sorry for all the questions man lol
