So I am building my first PC and I just wanted to get some feedback on my current parts list.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1 GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 ATX LGA 1150 Motherboard

Memory: G. Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

HDD: SEAGATE Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

GPU: MSI Radeon R9 390 8GB

Case: NZXT H440 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply: Corsair CX 750W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64bit)

Is everything there compatible? I have been changing around the parts for awhile now, in fact every part on this list has changed at least once. Also, do I need any case fans other than the stock ones?

Solution
Try and get the i5 4590 or i5 4460.

By removing the cooler from the rig and adding the money in CPU, you can get 4590, it's clocked at higher speed by default. Additional cooler is absolutely not required for locked chips, stock cooler is sufficient.

For PSU, the CX 750 is tier 4 PSU, close to the absolute worst PSUs, that is tier 5 PSUs.

Better to get a tier 1 or 2 650w PSU for your RIG.

Seasonic S12II 620w is less than 60$ i think at the moment, very good PSU.

EDIT: you chose a Z97 based motherboard for a locked chip, it is designed to overclock unlocked intel chips, there is H97 based boards for locked chips, costs less.
Everything is compatible, although you should get a better quality PSU if possible. The wattage is enough but Corsair CX series are bad quality. (Good quality=Seasonic,EVGA,XFX,Antec). And you will be fine with the stock ones since there is 4 of them. 😀 (Also if you want to lower the price of the build, you can get a cheaper motherboard).

Instead of the Gaming 5 i wud prefer the MSI H97 PC MATE.... its cheap and really good (from personal experience) AND ALSO U SEEM TO CHOOSE A LOCKED CHIP SO GOING WITH A H97 BOARD IS A GOOD CALL but if u wanna go with the Gaming 5 its Your choice.

Thanks for all the help. It is kind of funny because both the parts people have recommended that I change I saw another guy recommend on a different post for a very similar build. Just got the build below $1000 so that is always a positive. Now does anyone have any tips on building it? I know the basics, however if anyone knows anything useful please share.

Just take your time, it's not a job can be done in minutes,be patient, Keep motherboard manual in handy.

Be free of any electricity, wear a static band if you have, or touch some metal to loose any current from your hands.

Best will be to watch some PC build Videos, it helped me alot for the first time.
