I want to see if I have put together a good plan for building a pc and get some GPU advice. My goal is to build one that can handle AAA titles on at least medium and achieve 45 FPS at 1920x1080.
CPU- I5 2500K oc to 4.5
Motherboard- Asus P8B75-M/CSM
Ram- 2 sticks of Samsung 4gb ddr3 1600. upgrade to 4 sticks if necessary.
Case- DIYPC Solo-T2-BK.
CPU cooler- Cooler master liquid 120mm with fan.
Power supply- 600 watt Corsair.
Hard drive- cruicial MX200 250gb SSD.
So the only thing I’m missing is a GPU. What one do I need to compliment my hardware to achieve my goals?
(Note) I know my ram isn’t the best and for my cpu I could get a board that supports up to ddr4 but I don’t feel that would give me any significant advantage when I can run 4 stick of ddr3 for less money.

Solution
Neglecting the fact, that you are planing to use older generation processor ...
for AAA titles on at least medium and achieve 45 FPS at 1920x1080 I would recommend a gtx 1060 6GB or an AMD RX 480/580 graphics card.
You may also wait for Nvidia´s latest line-up and buy a 1150 / 2050 when announced.

Keep an eye on CPU bottlenecking:

I have the i5 and ram. I think it has enough power to be relevant in gaming for this build and it keeps the budget down. For my first build I’m not wanting to spend a lot.
Don’t really have a budget though. I know they say to buy the most powerful GPU you can afford but at the same time I don’t want to spend $350 on one if I could get by with something cheaper.
