Instead go with a X4, change to a Crossfire capable mobo and slightly bigger PSU, this would allow for adding 1 more HD 6870 in crossfire later on...

okay, I hear ya. The x4 would be nice if I'm not going to use a x6. I'm pretty sure that motherboard is crossfire capable.

^ That board though says Crossfire capable, but wont be a good idea to do Crossfire with that board because the 2nd PCIe slot runs crippled @x4...It is imperative that the PCIe slots run at x8 or above if you want to utilize the full power of the video card...

Video card is fine, no issues with that...

Okay, makes sense. Why would I want to run 2 video cards? (do they work together for better graphics?)
