My fps is really low while playing games.

I have an Intel core i5 4430 3.0 GHz and a geforce gtx 960 gaming 2g, I have to play on very low settings on h1z1 but I still get around 50-60 frames and it is really jumpy. If anyone has suggestions please help. Thanks.

Check your CPU and GPU temperatures and clocks while gaming.
software like HWmonitor, GPU-Z, and MSI afterburner will help with that.
If you have heat issues, one or both of them can throttle and lead to poor FPS.
You supposed to be able to play on high settings @60fps on 1080p monitor.

Sorry for the late response but had to sleep haha. No I keep track of my GPU while gaming and it is quite cold since I game in my basement where my room is located. It stays at around 30-40 degrees celsius.

I do not over clock or anything with my cpu I leave it at its default. (CPU-Z says it's around 3,000 MHz)

In GPU-Z, you have a sensors tab with graphs. so you launch the GPU-Z, play for 30 minutes or so, go back to GPU-Z and check the graphs. If you see your GPU core frequency falling or not at the maximum when you were playing, it means that it throttles - probably due to high temperature

I'll have to reply to this later on tonight I kinda stayed up all night till 3:25 pm Extremley tired but after I closed my game I went and checked and it said my overall cpu temp was about 40 degrees celcius. And they where all being used about 70%. So I'm not forsure what the problem is but post anything you want me to try and I will try it once I wake up lol. Thanks for your help so far.
