My graphics card is up to date on drivers so I have no clue whats going on. I used MSI after burner to track CPU and GPU usage while playing battlefield 1. I'm getting higher CPU usage(around 80) and lower GPU usage( around 50-60). I've noticed that I am not able to play with the same settings as before or else my fps drops below 60. Lowering my settings all the way down to low doesn't even help. I still get above 60fps however, even all the way up to 100 but its not the same anymore, whenever intense explosions and fights start happening my fps drops way lower than before.

UPDATE: On gta 5 I get 90% gpu usage and 50-60% cpu usage, and it doesnt appear that im getting lower fps than normal. Could this just be a problem with battlefield 1 that im getting lower fps than normal?

Please help I cant enjoy my favorite game anymore :(

PC SPECS:
Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH X79
GPU: MSI GTX 970 4gb
CPU: Intel Core i7-4820k CPU 3.7GHz

Solution
Check yout CPU temperatures while gaming, it might be overheating. Clean the cooler, and if necessary reapply thermal paste. Make sure there is enough airflow within the case.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Haoo : "Lower fps than usual"

So recently I've been getting lower fps than usual. For example I used to get 75-90fps on Sinai desert even with explosions and action going on. Now I get 65-75fps when nothing is happening and I drop below 60 when action starts happening(like explosions, mutliple people, buildings being destroyed). I've tracked my GPU and CPU usage and get higher CPU than GPU usage. I get 50-65% GPU usage and 80-90% CPU usage. I've tried putting a command(renderdevice.renderaheadlimit 2) and it gave me a slight fps boost however it only work on one map which is confusing me. I honestly don't know whats going on I just want to enjoy my favorite game again so please help. Lowering my video settings obviously gives higher fps but it still drops below 60 at times which has never happened before. I've reset my pc, cleaned my PC(physically), and updated my drivers, all didn't work.

Pc specs: MSI GTX 970 I7 4820k 3.7ghz (If you need anything else just lmk)

I've downloaded a bench mark and my GPU usage is 99% and CPU Is around 40% if this helps.
