So my friend wants to play overwatch and has the budget of £120 i already have an am2 motherboard laying around which im giving him, 6gb ddr2 ram and have purchased a phenom x4 9550 for the build as the mobo only supports 95w tdp and anything higher from phenom or athlon is 125w (weve come a long way since 2006 havent we >.>) so my plan is a corsair vs550 for £45 with a 250gb 7200rpm hdd at £20 and a hd 7850 at £55. ive looked into benchmarks on modern titles of a similar build (phenom x4 9650 with gtx 660) and games seem playable. My question is does anyone have a system similar to this (yes its the end of 2016 and the cpu is little over 10 years old) that can shine some light on the expexted performance. Also please no suggestions on different cpu as the budget is way too cofined

For all intents and purposes, the system you're going to hand over to him will only result in him buying a new system. Either the PSU will conk out or will set the house ablaze. I'm not joking when I'm saying all this since the parts you've listed although at 10 years plus in the pipeline aren't capable of playing Overwatch.

If you had something like a first Gen Core i5 build then it'd be somewhat playable but on an AM2 platform, it's not worth the effort.

Might I ask where you found a playable reference with a GTX660+ Phenom x4 9650? We could patch your friend up with a 600quid system, if I checked off the top of my head but you're going to have more fruition if you followed through this thread and did a follow up.
