Hey guys, this might seem like a really dumb question but my friend and I want to make our own minecraft server but the problem is I can connect to it but he can't. And Everyone is telling me I need to port forward or something so he can connect to my local host or ip but I don't know how to do that.

to do that just go to your default gateway which you can find by typing ipconfig in CMD login the username and password is usually admin and password but could be different depending on the modem, after that find the port forwarding section which is usually under advanced in most, than for the type choose UDP/TCP or BOTH than put for the start port 25565 and end port 25565, than you want to give your friend your ipv4 to connect to you, any information it asks when port forwarding can be found in ipconfig(your local area ipv4 and ipv6)
