My friend can't download games

Ages ago my friend wiped his hard drive and reinstalled the appropriate files to get it back to the basics but when he goes to play a game or download games he gets this

Failed to initialize Direct3D.
Make sure you have at least DirectX 9.0c installed, have drivers for your
graphics card and have not disabled 3D acceleration
in display settings.
InitializeEngineGraphics failed


He has installed amd catalysit like 5 times and nothing working any suggestions

Is this a steam game issue? If so they this fix. Change Eidos for what every game your having the issue with.


We're going to need "Registry Editor" to fix this error.
Go to the Start menu, and search for "regedit."
Run the program.

We need to find the right folder and file to edit.
Open the dropdown menu for "HKEY_CURRENT_USER."
Open the dropdown menu for "Software."
Open the dropdown menu for "Eidos."
Open the dropdown menu for "Deus Ex: HRDC."
Go to the "Graphics" folder.

You'll see EnableDirectX11 folder. Open it and you'll see 1 change it to 0.
