This we dont get. i have pulled the HSF applies arctic MX4, re installed windows, re seated the CPU.

What happens is the CPU under idle according to AMD overdrive and other monitoring apps will idle at around 40-50c but then when you start a game or put it under any load the temps actually drop to around 23c. and sometimes the PC will even shut itself off.

IS this common or what?

tell you what. re read my post and then give me an answer worth reading.

Probably true. the funny thing is i said i did try multiple temp monitoring programs and they all read the same, but some people cant read.

AMD Overdrive,HW Monitor, speed fan, and even the motherboads bios even reads 40 something C at idle.

Like? i mean AMD overdrive and HW monitor are like the only 2 even used these days. speedfan is old but i tried it anyways.

so what do you use? something from 1998 to monitor your temps?

FYI, posts like that aren't going to make many people want to help you.

You could try "CoreTemp". But it certainly sounds like the temp sensor is faulty.
