Question My friend's system got wet, are the peripherals likely okay?

My friend lost his system recently due to leaving the window open and letting it getting rained on. Ordered replacement parts already but wondering if the peripherals are probably okay or if they were likely lost as well? The only part of them that would have gotten wet is the connectors on the back of the system and the cables, none of the peripherals were directly hit with water as far as I know.

If the system was on at the time, then its not likely.
However, if it was off, the peripherals are more likely than not to still be functioning, assuming proper drying time before next use.

Chances arent as great then, but depending on how exactly the system went out it might be okay.

Obviously make sure they are completely dried off before trying them again, but I would think there is a decent chance of them still functioning.

There is no real way to tell if they will or wont work. best of luck to your friend.

My guess would be that they probably work. That's not guaranteed, but seems likely. If the connectors have had time to completely dry, you should be able to test them in another computer.

I would also suspect that at least some of the system's other components would have survived as well, though its difficult to say for sure, since it would depend heavily on what got wet, and whether other components might have been affected by voltage spikes or anything.
