I have my old cabinet with ac97 audio panel but when i connect it to my motherboard the system is not detecting it and sound is not coming. Both jacks are not working but rear panels are working
My motherboard is gigabyte ga78lmts2 rev 1.2
In the manual it says that ac97 audio panel or connector is also supported and the motherboard is set to hd audio by default for front panel how i change it to ac97.

Of your mobo has HD audio and your case have front HD audio then you can plug that. If your case don't have HD audio then plug that ac97 on mobo. .... If you want a new one it will available on local market. .....:)

He stated in his original post he is using an old case with AC97 audio front panel connector. There is usually an option in the BIOS to switch between HD Audio / AC97 for the front panel connector. I would imagine it is located under "Integrated Peripherals"

I found another post relating to the issue you are having. Looks like there is no direct option to switch to AC'97 but you should be able to do it via the drivers application since the motherboard states it supports AC'97.

Though its not called switching to AC'97, you have to disable front panel jack detection on the audio application.

I found the information here along with a little guide. Credits to the OP for the solution.
