My fujifilm won't turn on unless on a charger.

I haven't used my camera in a while but I went to charge it the other day and I took it off the charger and it wouldn't turn on. I then plugged it back into it took the charger and it turned right on. How can I fix this??

Buy a new battery.

As was suggested by markwp the solution is probably buy a new battery. Leaving a battery attached (inserted) is a bad idea if you aren't going to use the camera for a while. I did this with an old Sony camcorder (left the battery attached) and didn't use it for a long time and when I did finally decide to use it the battery would not hold a charge.
