I just did some installation using reactive LED strips - all the content from my monitor on my furniture :

It's really a shame Phillips pantented Ambilight and fell to obscurity. The world today would've been a better place.

Yes, a bit - but there are already some strips included and the controller can handle up to 1000 LEDs (about 30+ meters of strips), so at such crazy installations it gets cheaper per LED...
