My games used to run really well, but now the cpu and gpu usage went up to 100% everytime i play a game. In RUST and FORTNITE i had 30% cpu usage and 40% gpu usage but now everytime i play a game both of them go up to 100%. At first everything was fine then my fortnite started to crash every second game and now it doesnt get past the main menu.

Well the 100 percent usage is quite normal in games ! can u also list your specs !

Use Task Manager and Resource Monitor to identify what apps, services, and processes are consuming CPU and GPU resources.

May be some background update or backup launching.

Or something has been corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.

Everything is using 0% but the game 100%

Any recent updates or other game changes that you are aware of?

Check the applicable game forums to learn if other players are having similar problems.

Otherwise: reinstall either Rust or Fortnight. Reinstalling may end the problem(s).

i did that, the pc now heats up really quickly.

Overheating. Any signs of thermal paste oozing out?

Check your cooling system(s) and airflows. Ensure that all fans are working. No airflow blockages.

The next consideration would be a failing PSU. No longer able to provide the necessary power levels.
