I have a premade computer that has a AMD A-10 6700 APU. I want a good CPU so i went intel and switched out some graphics cards. I already have a power supply and all that good stuff. I just wanted to replace the APU. So here is my set up for my new motherboard / graphics card. If there are any flaws that will keep me from playing all my games on max settings such as Arma 3, DayZ, Planetside 2, Watchdogs, Farcry 4 and other high end games.

And H97 would be better. It doesn't run the risk of needing a BIOS update. Also, you NEED to replace that PSU. It is a tier 5 unit and it needs to go before you put any other part in. A PSU may seem harmless but it can ruin your entire system and it being a tier 5 means that it is a question of when and not if.

If you really want that motherboard then I can't recommend it enough 😀 It is amazing. I have it and everything about it is beautiful...

I dont really know what that meens but ill tell you the parts.

GPU: EVGA 04G-2974-KR GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 ACX 2.0 PCI Express 3.0

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 Haswell Quad-Core 3.2GHz LGA 1150 Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4600 BX80646I54460

Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS VII HERO LGA 1150 Intel Z97 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200) Desktop Memory Model F3-2400C11D-8GXM

Thermal paste to mount CPU cooler: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver Thermal Compound AS5-3.5G - OEM

Since you are purchasing an i5-4460 and it's not unlocked, then there is no need for an expensive Z97 mobo. You can either upgrade to the 4690k and utilize the overclocking of a Z97 mobo, or keep the 4460 and pick up a cheaper H87 Mobo. The GPU is great though

I do not know much about overclocking or what exactly does. So ill rather stick to a cheaper motherboard. Could you find me a good gaming motherboard that is below $210. Cause like i said im pretty new to this "create your own PC" kinda stuff.

I agree with MasterDell, if you are choosing the 4460, then the money you save going with that CPU and H97 mobo you could pick up a higher quality PSU and probably even an SSD. However, if you decide to go with that motherboard it does look beautiful as Dell said but make sure to grab the 4690k with it.

This. But since you don't want to OC then it is not worth it. 4460 and H97 board would be best and if you have money left, an SSD would be a good upgrade.

Honestly i love that build you have there i might buy that. And just to make sure is all that stuff compatible?
Can that build run games like Arma 3 on ultra cause i love that game but only get like 15FPS on it.

That game is disgustingly optimized so I can't promise anything. Not even the best hardware can get 60FPS on Ultra. But since it is a 970 and it almost is the best hardware you will be getting about 44FPS on Ultra detail.

*EDIT* Checked other benchmarks and it can actually reach about 55FPS.

Thanks man im gonna order that set up tomorrow!
