My computer randomly crashes whenever i am playing games, or even just when i am installing a program. I have only had it freezes to the point that i have to restart the computer, it happens whenever i am installing a program or running scans on my harddrive, but when i play games it crashes and it repeats the noise that was playing at the time of the crash and the screen goes black. I have no idea what is wrong, i have checked my temps = Cpu max temp = 55c after 8 hours of gameplay, Gpu Max = 70c after 8 hrs.

Here are my specs: I5 4690k, R9 290 (Blower style fan), 750 B2 EVGA power supply, Hyper 212 Evo, 8gb G.Skill ram, 1x 500gb hdd , 1x 1,000gb hdd. Everything is on the 500gb hdd including the OS, i got the extra 1k hdd for extra space.

I have scanned my pc for viruses, looked for crash dump files ( found nothing ). I have no idea what is wrong.

Hi.

When you said you were running scans on your hard drive, you meaning a virus scan or checkdisk? It could be your hard drive is crapping out. I would backup anything important first.

Can you disconnect the power and data cable from the 1 TB HDD and try and see if it crashes? Also you can try and run a check disk on the 500 GB hard drive that has the OS on it.

When i said i scanned, i meant i had scanned it for viruses. I disconnected my 1 TB hdd and it still crashed once. I ran a check on my 500gb hdd with checkdisk and it didnt find any errors.
