My Gaming PC

This is my first time building a gaming pc. I was just curious if this pc would be good for gaming and if I should make any improvements. Trying to stay as close to $800-900 for the pc.

Depends on what your definition of "good for gaming" is. Minecraft is gaming. Witcher 3 is gaming. They're both significantly different gaming though.

In short, yes this rig will be able to play games for a while especially because you have a nice i5/GTX 960 combo along with a wad of RAM. I say go for it.
