Question My GeForce GTX 1060 6GB is causing me grief

For the last ~6 months or so my PC has been giving me a semi-regular crash, albeit without a specific trigger.

The Crash was always the same; my PC would hang for a moment, sound would distort and then the screen would go black while the PC restarted. There didn't seem to be any specific trigger; crashes would happen a few minutes into starting a game, a few minutes after leaving a game and sometimes while I was just browsing the internet.

Two days ago, the crash changed - it didn't restart and just hung there for over a minute. the system's sound would return to normal, but the screen would still be frozen and I had to manually restart the PC.

When I did, instead of the usual boot screen I got an analog/HDMI loop before my monitor shut off. I could hear the regular booting chimes playing in the background, so that much is still working. But when I finally got my monitor to reconnect to my PC (via an analog cable to the motherboard's port) I noticed my Video card wasn't showing up under the Device Manager. I "Scanned for hardware changes" and my VC reappeared and I was able to go back to using the HDMI connection

...Until a few hours ago when my PC crashed again and I have not been able to get my PC to recognize my VC since. I have tried removing the driver with DDU but the VC remains undetected and the newest driver won't even install.

Can anyone offer me any advice or troubleshooting tips?
