The gpu seems to be automatically overclocking when under load...its boost clock is 1830mhz and found that it goes upto 1935mhz when checked using msi afterburner...and temperature also increases upto 80 degrees at certain times...is it normal for this card??or is it because its an OC version it does everything on its own?

A lot of modern video cards and CPU's have automatic overclocking and its usually enabled by default. It's nothing to be worried about, it should be perfectly safe and shouldn't cause you any problems as they design it to be stable with some fail safes in place such as only overclocking when temperatures and power allow it.

The overclocking is also capped to a certain number so you don't have to worry about your GPU or CPU trying to overclock itself to 40,000 GHz.

And 80c for a 1660 super is safe. That card has a max allowed temperature of 93c. 80c under load is fine.

If you wanna read a bit about the automatic overclocking here's some links:

Intel's "turbo boost"
AMD's "precision boost"
