My GPU doesn’t work properly even when drivers are installed.

Recently, my GPU crashed. I didn’t know the reason, so I went on. After the incident, my GPU stopped working properly. It became like a driverless GPU, the resolution was outrageous and rendering didn’t work properly. I tried to re-install the drivers and the same thing happened. In device manager, it stated that the GPU wasn’t properly working even with all the drivers installed properly. I tried recovery to the day before the GPU crash, still nothing works. My cpu graphics work properly.

Specs:
CPU: i7-4790
MOBO: GIGABYTE H97M-D3H
GPU: NVIDIA 9800 GT

Use DDU to uninstall all current display drivers, then try re-installing them from Nvidia's website.

Had the same problem with my 9800GT years ago.
Sent it into warranty, they refused it because I tampered with it, but when it came back it actually worked.

But some time later the same thing happened again. Drivers wouldn't even recognize it as an Nvidia GPU anymore.

It could be a problem with the card's bios.
Install GPU Z, see if it recognizes your card.
