MY GPU IS RUSTING!! What to do?

This is my system specification:

Intel Core i5 2310 @ 2.90 GHz (OC 3.5 GHz)
ASUS P8Z77-V LGA1155

Asus Nvidia Geforce GTX650 Ti Boost 2GB DDR5 Nvdia PCI E Graphic Cards (GTX650TIB-DC2OC-2GD5)

Maybe that's all you need to solve my problem :p

Every year, I travel back to my old place where I have all my friends.
I always take my PC with me because can't have that much fun without it...

I bought my GPU on 19th August 2013.
In between of using it I changed my mobo once and many things too.
I had an old case which I used to keep my system in when I took it at old place.

I always went there during summer vacations so I was using a Water Cooler
(Not for the computer, FOR MYSELF!)

It made the air around in my room VERY humid at times.
Now in 2014, I disassembled my PC to clean it up and couldn't fit the GPU in any more and I broke something in the case so I kept my PC open on 2 planks of wood.

When I went back to my old place in 2014 and 2015 (this year) I went for around 3 months and my system was kept right in front of that water cooler because of the layout of my room.

Now when I returned this year, I find my GPU has started to rust all from the back panel.

Can this create problems? Can I remove that rust somehow? Should I go for a new GPU?

I am seriously looking for an upgrade to Strix 970 but my parents will make me stick to this one until it degrades (lol)

Here is an image of my GPU:
(Couldn't get the camera to focus -.- )

And I think if I don't do something it'll get worse...

~ Thanks.

Solution
From the picture, it looks like just the backplate has some rust at the edges of the ventilation cut outs. This shouldn't be a big deal.

However with the humidity, it could have caused a lot of dust to adhere to the fan, heatsink, under the heatsink, etc. I would at the very least remove the card and thoroughly clean it with air. Just be cautious when directing the air towards the fan, don't let the air spin the fan. This could damage the bearing in the fan.

If you are concerned about aesthetics (look) of the card with the rust, it's fairly simple to remove the back plate from the card. Then you could clean it up and paint it. Be sure to remove the backplate before painting. I won't be held responsible for you spraying paint...

Be sure to remove the backplate before painting. I won't be held responsible for you spraying paint into the connectors and or the card itself. From the picture you provided, you would have to remove the two countersunk screws next to the Displayport and HDMI port as well as the standoff nuts on either side of the DVI connectors. This should allow the backplate to come right off of the card. Then just clean it up and find a paint color you'd like to paint it. You might have to rough up the old paint to get the new paint to stick properly.

I already tried to do that with a pin and a screwdriver and even my hands but it's so hard it just doesn't get off... :(

I use a heavy blower to clean the dust off every week. And it does spin the fan but I dont let it spin so fast... Just hold the fan from one hand and then use the blower.

If I remove the backplate of the card and "re-paint" it, will it void the warranty? o.o
And which paint to apply? I live in India, don't know where can I get it. Im just a kid :|

Yeah also, never noticed those bolts on the backplate... Only thing I didn't try to open in my card yet :p
I'll check this out soon, for this Sunday im really busy for tomorrow's work...

I tried to remove the backplate, it had 3 screws. Unscrewed them all but the DVI-I and DVI-D Ports are still attached to the plate and I cant find a way to remove the plate from the card...

Anyways I did take a scrubber and rubbed off the rust, took a lot of force but worked. Now I cant get all the rust to be removed even with that force... :(

Plus, the DVI-I port which is unused also started rusting from inside. It's golden pins are now dark brown and barely shining like before.
I'll soon try more things.

Since this is the first google result on "gpu is rusting", quick lil update here after 5 years, I ended up removing the plate completely and used the GPU for a long 3 more years after that with no problems. Upgraded the GPU on my new build but the 650Ti Boost still works all good and is my backup graphics card incase main GPU goes bad :D
