My graphic card shows black screen also no built in HDMI port in motherboard

Hello Everybody.

So I have installed a Nvidia geforce gtx 1070 onto my mother board. At first I got something saying "Please power down and connect the pcie power cables..." then I check my vga cables and fit them properly and then there a black screen and my monitor says no connection. Please help I have no built in hdmi port onto the motherboard and this is my first time building a pc.

My only guess is that the PSU isn't transferring enough power to the card, whether its too low wattage, or the VGA connectors just aren't working.

That PSU is plenty. For two cards.. Are all power cables definitely plugged into the GPU? Is it fixed into the Pcie slot properly? Also, try from a non-HDMI output if you have one as sometimes it needs drivers for HDMI out to function.

Hey it works now just had to use a display port. Thank You so much for taking your time off for me and helping me.

Did you have discs with the motherboard and graphics card? If so, install them from there. If not, get MSI Live Update for MB drivers https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z170A-SLI-PLUS.html#down-utility and GEForce Experience for GPU http://www.geforce.co.uk/geforce-experience/game-ready-drivers
