I build this rig two month ago and now im refilling my water cooling loop and found out that one of my gpu's capacitor has some bubble on it. i was worry if it is going to burn or something worse will come in the future. therefore I added some passive heat sink you will see in below. note: i have been over clocking my gpu @+100 clock speed with only a universal gpu water block; no passive heat sink in vrm or other components on my gpu but fortunately I have two side panel fan that are directly blowing cool air into the gpu.

those are not Capacitors they are Chokes. The caps, or capasitors, are the silver cylindrical with a quarter painted Pink. you will be fine but here is a link that will help you under stand voltage regulation a bit. http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/everything-you-need-to-know-about-the-motherboard-voltage-regulator-circuit/2/

I add those passive heat sink on those Chokes and after some gaming testing the passive heat sinks are really hot kind of like my north bride... does chokes often produce that high amount of heat? and does gpu capacitors need to have some passive heat sink on them as well?
thank you so much for the help man!

it was a chokes that is square shape on the first picture i uploaded.

The Caps do not need heat sinks BUT look into to putting small ones on the mosfet transistors on the board. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835708011&cm_re=mosfet_heatsink-_-35-708-011-_-Product this link is for referance of what they are not ment to say buy this exact one. you may find the same thing cheaper.

These will also help with cooling and help stabilize the voltage the board uses. Keeping these cool is one thing that teh board manufactures usually do with the stock heat sinks/memory heat sinks. If you did not put heat sinks on the memory chips on the GPU i recommend you do that also.

Is it normal that the chokes heat up? Yes it is normal and you will not hurt them by having those heat sinks on them.

appreciate for your meaningful information!
