My graphics card underclocking itself

Hi everyone,

I have had this problem for a while now. When i play any game on my laptop witch has a nvidia 310m and i check because i noticed very low fps and so i check and the laptop was running at 405MHz when it supposed to be running at 1774MHz??? I used to be able to run garrys mod on all high with 50-60 fps at all times now i cant even run it on lowest with more then 20!!!! i have up to date drivers and nothing seems to be working and i just bought a couple of games that i cant play because my laptop "cant run it" so if some one can please help me i will really be thankfull. 😀

Hi,

Do you play plugged in or on battery,
on battery, your laptop is probably going on power saving mode else the battery would run out fast.
Aslo check on your temperatures, if it's overheating, it might be under clocking.

What games are you trying to play ?
Also your GPU is not that good for gaming, forget playing most modern games.

I would have to agree with the above user, Check the temps for sure, notebooks tend to run hot as it is, with a bit of dust in the cooler they can start to throttle speeds to keep temperatures in check.

my tems are at 65-69 when not gaming(pretty bad i think) and 72 when i am gaming
