Hello everyone . I have this problem with my graphics card , Ati radeon 4850 1gb 256 bit GDDR3 . I've recently changed it . at first everything was ok but then I realized that something is wrong . It was my power supply that wasn't able to handle it . I've changed it to Clacial Power 700 watt. It's a powerfull one . But I'm having this problem now Every game I launch starts for several minutes than my display just freezes and then I am thrown to desktop with a note that this program needs to close . I've tried to reinstall this drivers but it is useless . And I get this note that GRAPHICS DRIVER HAS STOPPED WORKING AND RECOVERED . My system is Core 2 Duo E7500 , RAM - 4GB DDR2 800Mhz . ASUS P5B (very old) , 2 HDDs MAXTOR 250 GB a d SEAGATE 250 GB and 3 coolers in the case are attached . Anyone can help ? I am already tired of trying it on my own . So a little help will be very helpful

Hi Sergo,

Just because you get the message Graphics driver has stopped responding sometimes does not just relate to the driver but the hardware it`s self at fault for the driver stopping.
For example say the graphics card is getting to hot, it then freak out and stop responding and the driver software may report its not working.

My advice since a Ati 4850 is a bit old Sergo.
Blow any dust out of it. What can happen here is a build up of thick matted dust that clogs the cooling fin intake of the cooling block for the Gpu. The fan may be working ok on the card but if the fins are blocked no cooling is passing through. so the card is overheating.

I had to do this last week by the way for a customer, who also had the very same problem you are describing.
A message of the graphics driver has stopped working. It all happened because of dust clogging the cooling fins of the heat sink of the card and no cold air from the fan reaching it to cool the heat sink. After a good clean out of the dust a thick mat of it the card worked fine from then on and the errors of the driver stopping working went away.
