My graphics card works fine when connected to pcie slot and psu slot but not when its in the motherboard slot

I restarted my computer like I would normally (never had issues with it since the day I got it which was 5 months ago) but now it's makes no connection to the monitor and I see my gpus fan has stopped working, when this occurred I took my gpu and removed it from the motherboard slot( kept the pcie port in and psu port in) Then the fans were working on the gpu perfectly but when I turned off my pc and pluged it back into the motherboard slot, the fans stopped working. Which is unusual. My psu is 500w and my gpu is Msi R9 270 2 GB. Note: When this happened all my other fans were working including cpu, case, fans. My ram and computer LEDs lights were also working

My pc has never had problems before so the psu can handle the components power needs.

Test the GPU in another system or try a different GPU in your system. Your GPU most likely went bad, but it could also be the motherboard.

Hi there thanks for the assistance my ram was in the wrong slot, so I switched it around and gave the computer a clean and it worked again.
