My GTX 1060 6GB suddenly giving lower fps.

My frames in all games I played were above 60 FPS on Ultra settings ever since I built my rig, but all of a sudden my ASUS GTX 1060 6GB started to get maximum 40 FPS on ultra settings on hard to run games and almost cut half my FPS off in most games.

My temps while playing are:
CPU: 90-115 degrees Farenheit
GPU: 110-135 degrees Farenheit, but usually stays around 130 degrees. (My fans were only at half power.)

My PC specs are:
ASUS GTX 1060 6GB OC,
Intel Core i7-6700k CPU @ 4.00GHz,
MSI B250 PC MATE,
8 GB DDR4 Memory.

I ran numerous amounts of malware tests and none showed that there was any malware detected on my computer. So, I have no clue what the problem could be! I installed all drivers, reinstalled windows with my files kept, and much more, but it seems nothing works! Please help!

I haven't overclocked my cpu, and how would i restore the defaults in the bios? I'll search up a video on how to do it. My PSU is an EVGA supernova nex650G. I'll update this reply after I restore. UPDATE: The BIOS restore didn't make a difference. I'm losing hope, I really hope my gpu isn't faulty, please help! ):

The power options wasn't on power saver it was on balanced, I changed it to high performance right now. Is that okay?

Yeah, that's perfectly fine. Probably won't fix your issue, as balanced should've been ok too.

Pull out the grahics card and re-install. Inspect your pci power cable to the gpu. Try another from the psu and make sure there is a firm contact. Use MSI Afterburner and monitor your cpu and gpu load while gaming to help isolate the problem. Play a demanding game. Set everything on ultra and check your cpu/gpu usage and frequency. They should be running at max frequency and for a heavy game, gpu should be near 100% load and cpu should be hovering at high loads

I did everything you said and it still isn't getting the frames it should be. My GPU is maxed out when I play, but my CPU is only at around 15%. UPDATE: When i got in the game my fps went up to barely above 60 in ULTRA but on High well above 60. I will check my other games soon and update this post.

It's the way it should be, keeping in mind your cpu is quite powerful, thus your gpu struggles, or there is an issue with your power supply. Try to completely uninstall your gpu drivers using DDU and reinstall latest drivers downloading from NVidia. It could be a driver conflict. Check if you had an OS update the date your problems started

ok please update

UPDATE: I used to get around 2000 fps on load screens in Rainbow Six Siege, but now I only get 60. My FPS in the game has been hopefully fixed as I am now getting way above 60 FPS. I'm still eerie as to why I used to get 2000 fps on loading screens in the game, but not anymore. Also, I tried to run PUBG with ultra graphics and I started with a little above 60 fps, but it then dropped to the low 50s and 40s, so I put it at high and I get above 60. For now those are the main games I play. If any other games begin to not get the fps they are supposed to I will notify you guys, but for now is there anything I can do to get more frames on ultra? I'm supposed to get around 140 in EVERY game (according to youtube benchmarks with the same build as mine.)

Check your nvidia settings and tweak. Some of them have huge impact on fps. 60 fps in loading screen is maybe locked by the game as long as you have not enabled V-Sync in your game. V/G Sync do lock your framerate to save gpu resources, temps, heat etc. If you are gaming in 60 hz monitor you do not actually need more than 60 fps but it's true your gpu should do way more than that. Maybe tweak with Nvidia control or at last do a clean install of your drivers with DDU. For PUGB especially, people say they 've seen huge fps boost by selecting "Override high DPI scaling behavior" (by application) in compatibility tab of your pugb.exe file. I don't play the game so idk but they say there are some optimization issues so maybe we shouldnt blame it on your setup

I uninstalled my GPU drivers and reinstalled and put the games I play to OPTIMAL settings in NVIDIA with a few tweaks to hopefully play better. Should I uninstall all motherboard/intel drivers as well and reinstall to see if that will do anything?
UPDATE: Optimal setting wasn't giving me the FPS i wanted so I did my own custom setting and it is apparently SHADOWS and EFFECTS on ultra setting that hinder my performance for PUBG. Not sure about R6S yet.

No you don't have to touch chipset and mobo, there is no reason. It's the gpu struggling here. You can run the Heaven Benchmark with Extreme preset at full HD and compare your score with other 1060's, if you believe there is something wrong still

I ran the benchmark and got a score of 2149 which is normal for a 1060 as well as an fps of 85.3! Thanks for all the help! Hopefully I do not encounter any other problems, if so I'll be sure to message one of you hopefully. THANKS!!!

WE UNFORTUNATELY STILL HAVE A PROBLEM! R6S is still MAJORLY UNDERPERFORMING IN FPS! It is extremely low now around 40 fps and cannot even get above 60! What the heck is wrong with my computer this is seriously annoying the heck out of me! PLEASE HELP!
