My hard drive gives high pitch sound

So as the title says my hard drive gives a high pitch sound when I boot and restart my pc and sometimes when I try to load a game or some application from it and here is how it sounds http://chirb.it/Ls7g6F go to the address and press play to listen.By the way I use my ssd for my os the hdd is my secondary hard drive but it gives high pitch sounds when I try to load something from it so what is the reason for it?

That sounds like maybe the hard drive was turned off and is simply turning back on. depending on your power options you may have the drive set to turn off when it has not been in use for a while.

This only happens when that drive spins up? It would appear to be something wrong with that drive. High pitched sounds like, to me, the spindle bearings.

Be sure you have a good copy of whatever is in it, and be prepared to replace it.

HDD's making noise is never good, and never gets better. It might run for another 3 years, or it might die next week.
If thtat is actually the problem. But it sounds like it is.
