My Hard Drive randomly became slow on wendsday

So on tuesday i felt there was something strange with my hard drive but i couldn't lay my finger on it then on I think it was the fact that Discord didnt boot up at the start of booting up my pc because its always supposed to. On Wednesday I boot up my computer and its horrendously slow and it still is to this day. Im talking about 90kb/s slow. Yesterday I ran it through some benchmarks and the low was 0.2 mbp/s and highest was 200 mbp/s but the average was 4mbp/s but I always see my hardrive read and write speed in task managers around 250kbp/s. I have all my drivers installed except for the latest NVidia driver because i have heard some bad things about it. Should I Try defraging? I attempted to defrag my hdd last night but since the read speed is so slow it barely got to 2% in 11 hours. My hdd is a regular WD Blue 1tb hard drive with 12% open space.

It passed the S.M.A.R.T Test and the quick test dont want to attempt the extended test because dont have alot of time currently.

That is unpleasant. 🙁

Is this your OS drive? What is your Win version? You can check Resource Monitor out and see if there's high disk usage.

Apart from that, it would be a really nice idea to back up the important data stored on the drive, even though the drive has passed the short test. Once you have some free time, you can run the extended test as well.
Also, you can attach the drive with different cables to another SATA port. That way, you will see if this is connection related.
