My harddisk space is running out of no reason

Okay so it has been a month and i've noticed that my c-drive space has decreased by a factor of 7-8GB for no reason, i've run antivirus scan with avast and malwarebytes and no virus found. But recently I've found the cause to it. Recently I've uninstalled some of my games from steam and restored them by steam backup. And after doing that when i run the game, first time it starts the installation of directx. It happens every time if we install a fresh new game files.
So I thought of reinstalling my games from the backup and the same thing happened, that my c-drive space reduced even more.

And yes I have my steam games installed in d-drive which is fine.
While my steam client is in c-drive.

So please help me with the solution to this problem. I don't know where to find directx files.

most likely cause is restore points being created. that and your recycle bin is likely getting full.
direct x needs to be kept up to date thats why it keeps running the installer for new games. its perfectly normal.

No my recycle bin is empty and the version of directx which its installing is the same because i've done this thing with a single game twice in the same day. What I think is that it has the setup file in a package which it extracts to some temporary folder. After that it just install the same version again and again. Though I haven't found anything in temp folders which get opened when we type "temp" and "%temp%" in the run menu.

I think it is its installation files which are doing the problem, and the directx version in my PC is the latest one already.

Try defragmenting, I'm not a genius when it comes to Steam 😛

Well this is a quite late reply, but i want to tell that restore points were the actual cause of my low hard disk space. I freed up around 38 GB harddisk space by removing my restore points. This was a late reply to your answer, but thanks for the solution.
And yes the same thing was suggested by HEXiT also, thanks to you as well.
