My hdd is missing after Windows 8.1 update! Not showing in disk management but shows in Bios??

Yesterday I upgraded to Windows 8.1 from Windows 7 and now my hard drive is missing.
I have a 24 GB SSD and a 500 GB hdd. The 500 GB is missing.

It shows in Bios and in device manager but is NOT showing in disk management. So I can't just rename it and change drive letter, since it is not showing.

I have updated driver and I have reinstalled Windows again, nothing helped.

What to do??

Hi there q8m,

This sounds like a driver related issue.
You need to go to your MOBO's website and update/reinstall your SATA drivers.

Have you tried to attach the drive to another port with different cables? I guess you can attach it to another system in order to be sure whether the problem stems from your system or the HDD itself.
Another thing you can try is to reset the CMOS: http://www.howtogeek.com/131623/how-to-clear-your-computers-cmos-to-reset-bios-settings/

Apart from all this, I think it should be some sort of a driver issues as it happened after an OS upgrade.
