my hdmi cable works on my xbox 360 but not my ps3. Is something wrong with my ps3?

possibly hdmi port is dead, have you tried to reset settings? hold down the power button, you will hear the first beep when it turns on the system keep holding the power button down until you hear another beep then let go, this will reset your video settings. if that does not work port may possibly be faulty, have you ever used the HDMI port before?

How old is the cable? I think it needs to support HDMI version 1.3 at minimum. Also, sscultima has a good suggestion.
