[SOLVED] My HDMI cord will not plug in to my Video card

I bought a refurbished video card for my Dell and my HDMI will not plug into it.
Is there any reason that this should be?

i imagine you are positive that this is an HDMI port and HDMI cable and not DP?
most modern cards come with DP & HDMI.

it's possible that the HDMI port has internal damage and the "clip" that holds it in place or some other aspect of it is broken or offset.
provide an image of the HDMI port with light shining into the connection.

also provide make & model of the card.
