My headset is echoing and making weird sounds.

So we got my friend a "Sentry GS-4340" headset for his birthday. But when we plugged it into his PC it was echoing. So we tried to change the settings. It stopped the echo but continues to sound bad and make weird noises. But when we plugged it into my PC it worked just fine and sounded great. How can we fix this. (His PC runs Windows XP)

His OLD computer is NOT supported for NEW hardware. His system may not be CAPABLE to support what the headset is capable of .

REMEMBER XP IS NOT SUPPORTED! No drivers, no patches, no updates for years now. Everyone is on Windows 8.1U (update) as those of us 7 people are still holding out (but not for long Windows 7 Service Pack 1 January 13, 2015 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/lifecycle) and we are waiting in a couple weeks what the 'plan' is about Windows 10.
