My HP 6600 will not print at all when one of the colored ink cartridges is out.

My HP printer model 6600 will not print anything if one of the ink cartridges is out. I have set the page to print black only and it still wont print. What is a person to do?

Replace the empty cartridge, some printer's firmware is written so that the printer will not work until all cartridges are "usable", HP printers are notorious for shorting you on pages printer per cartridge and being irritating in general (with little problems like yours)
