My HP Pavilion gaming PC isnt picking up a signal

I have my computer, it is a HP Pavilion something or other, its a gaming PC type deal. Today my PC isnt sending out a signal to my monitor. I am using some random dell monitor, very basic, and a VGA cord to connect the PC to the monitor. Every time I try to use the PC, my PC doesnt send out a signal to my monitor. It isnt my monitor or my cord, I have tried 2 of each to make sure. The new WoW Expac came out a few days ago, I just want to play it, can anyone help me?
