My i5 4690k cant handle overclocking

My Rig cant seem to handle overclocking.

I use my Maximus Hero Vii card and the tuning wizzard trying to give my CPU a bump above the 3.9 Gtz turbo. So i try tuning it with the box cooler setting even though i have a custom cooler. It gives the GPU a 25% bump and the ram about 20%. This causes the PC to crash on startup.

I use an Intel i5 4690k
The Hero mobo and 8gb og 1600 dd3 ram.

Is this to much to ask of my CPU?

Every CPU is different on how much overclock you can achieve. There is no real way to know what the max you can reach until you try.

Another question maybe on what are the most successful ways people have overclocked that CPU on that motherboard.

Overclocking should always be done in small increments... changes of .1 for speed and .01 for voltages.

Default it and start slower...
