My imac display

When I turn on my Imac the display is too big to fit on the screen and is slightly out of focus, so I can't see the menu bar and the dock at the same time. I have to use the mouse to navigate the display. However, when I log onto another user it's OK. If I then relog into my account afterwards, it's normal again. It happens every time I switch it on. Any suggestions?
