It should not cause any issues.

Computers survive power outs all the time.

You may loose open documents that have no been saved, but that is generally about it.

You would have to have real bad luck for anything worse.

losing power doesn't hurt computers, power surges do. Always make sure you have a good surge protector between you and the outlet, even though most things have built in protectors.

I was using a good power bar but it looks like it was mysteriously causing weird noises to the mac now I have no choice but to plug it directly to the wall : /

What kind if noise do you get? PC power supplies(mac/pc use the same switching type of power supplies. Switching power supplies are everywhere now because of the high efficiency and lower size per watt.) are generally VERY good at filtering power.

By nature switchers are more "noisy", but a bit of filtering(caps/inductors) after smooths it right out.
