I am an early adopter and got the Intel i9 12900K the other day but I feel it's giving me sub-par performance.
My Intel i9 12900K underpeforms in Time Spy CPU test where I only get an underwhelming score of just 13300.
The previous score I had was a slightly overclocked i9 9900K, which gave me 12000.
I have hard time believing this will only give me 1300 more points compared to my previous CPU.

My system is:
Win 11
Asus ROG Strix Z690 F-Gaming
Intel i9 12900K
Noctua NH-U12A as I am waiting for my Corsair iCUE H150i
Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3080
WD Black SN850
And Kingston Fury 32GB 40CL

I have seen others getting around 18000 in the CPU test.

Anyone has an idea?

i dont see any time spy cpu tests on web reviews?
and on UL hall of fame, best for 12900k is 15394 on 16 threaded test
https://www.3dmark.com/hall-of-fame-2/cpu+profile+16+threads+score/version+1.0
After some digging in BIOS, I just noticed that my RAM was set to operate at only 4800 MHz.
Now I also get ~15500 points with XMP 1 profile.
So the other results I saw before must have been with more aggressive settings.

The results I saw were leaked and the one with well above 18000 was The Verge 's review of the i9 12900k.

that depends on which test you looking at, there is cpu score for gpu test, and theres separate cpu test which does some physics testing
normal cpu score in gpu benchmark is somewhat pointless, as you get gpu bottleneck there (for obvious reasons) and cpu doesnt get tested there that much (around 2-4 threads?)...
see cpu temperature and p-core clocks if something isnt there fishy (hwinfo64)
