there is my build I have the SSD drive hooked up but my 1tb storage will not be recognized.... Before you say make sure it is plugged in it is. Before you say go to control panel and activated it, it is not even there and when I hit scan for storage devices it isn't there.....

Before I had the SSD for windows and little programs ect then I connected the 1tb storage and it wouldn't even boot on. I had it on raid settings then decided to change it to see if that would fix it and it didn't so I whipped the computer and tried to restart the installs now I have windos 8.1 64 bit on my ssd and all ect BUT when I attached the 1tb to my motherboard it doesn't even say a storage device is there will not detect by any sorts.....

NEED SOME SERIOUS HELP~~!!!

SOS!!!

try a different sata cable and port on the motherboard. if you have a second computer, move the drive to it and see if it sees the drive. if the new cable and port doesn't work put in another system, if second system fails to see it then the drive is dead.

do you have an external hard drive? you could swap the drives and try in the enclosure. grasping at straws I know. nice system though.

The disc isn't even showing up on the computer ANYWHERE not in the bios or anything so can't exactly test it -_-

sounds like the drive is toast. did you feel it power on and spin up. if when you plug it in to power it does not spin up then it's dead.

I honestly can't tell because like I said earlier it was ATLEAST showing up. Now it is not showing up at all not anywheres. So basically according to the computer this part doesn't exist right now.

Seagate SeaTools has a version for creating a bootable CD. Assuming you're working with Windows 7 it should work with that OS and be able to test the disk. See...
http://www.seagate.com/support/downloads/item/seatools-dos-master/

still if the bios on the motherboard does not see the drive then for the computer and seatools there is no drive to test.

That's not necessarily so when using Seagate's SeaTools bootable CD. On a number of occasions we found that diagnostic software was able to detect a Seagate HDD even though the drive was not recognized in the BIOS and furthermore the disk could then be tested. Was this always the case if the drive was not recognized by the BIOS? Absolutely not, but it was worth a try since the user has nothing to lose by trying it.

I have had the same problem go to *(device manager) and then go into *(disk drives) and see if u find it listed in there if so it might not be allocated correctly . type in the windows search for (partitions) after going there look for your *(hard drive) and if u can find it right click on the box next to it click *(Extend volume) and set it to the max for your *(hard drive) to utilize all the space.

If the bios is not detecting it, and you've try different ports, and your mobo detects other drives then. Your SSD is toast, RMA it if it is still under warranty. Also dont try to listen to any "spin", there are no moving parts in a SSD... so there would be no spin... and a drive could still receive power and show activity while still being defective.
