My internet dropped from 30 mbps to 5.5 mbps overnight only for my computer

My internet used to be 30 mbps on my pc so I checked my phone and it still was 30 mbps but my desktop was getting 5.5 mbps. I checked the speeds on speedtest.net

Yes I have done both of these. When I tried speedof.me I got 6 mbps download and upload speed and on safe mode with networking it was the same. It should be 30 mbps download and around 10 upload.

Ok, do you have another ethernet cable to test it with to the router? Also, what router are you using? Did you install anything else? You could possibly re-install the driver or do a system restore.

I am using Ethernet currently connected to my Netgear R7000 and I don't think I did anything to affect my PC recently.

Do you have another ethernet cable you can use? Also try another port on the router and see if that helps. If you installed new programs, that COULD cause it. Do a system restore to when your computer was working just fine.

Probably your network adapter got an update which is not going well wit your setup. Check if the network adapter it is up to date if not update it. If it is up to date uninstall the drivers and reinstall them. First check if you have the drivers that came in with the motherboard or download them from the manufacturers website. If downloading try to get the old ones.
